I used Karine on our wedding day for hair and makeup as well as for my mother in law's hair and makeup. She was fabulous! She really knows all of the latest techniques, and had amazing makeup. I definitely recommend paying the small difference for the airbrush - it's a MUST HAVE. My skin looked better on my wedding day than it ever has. She was hilarious, and really fit in well with my family and kept the mood light.Her prices are awesome, and I definitely recommend - you'll get the same kind of outcome as if you paid 3x as much at your hotel (and she came to us). So glad we used her!

I live in San Diego, and was getting married in Maui…one of my biggest dilemma was how can I possibly find THE RIGHT hair and makeup artist, and trust that the artist can do what I want for me and my bridal party.Well I was relentless, after numerous searches online, most of which almost looked identical and hopeless. I finally came across one website called Maui Wedding Network. In it featured Bridal Hair on Maui by Karine. I immediately selected the link and low and behold it not only had exquisite bridal photos, she had PAGES and PAGES of all the brides she’s styled. From before and after photos, bridal party photos, to testimonials…Karine Cumming’s portfolio was utterly filled with more than enough gallery photos to guide a Bride-to-be in need of professional assistance.From the moment we exchanged emails and started speaking to each other, I was sold even before we had our trial day, which was two days before the wedding. Months before the wedding, she would call me just to check up on me, asking if I needed anything else, other than hair/makeup (flowers, other vendors, rehearsal dinner, you name it, she was willing to help in any way she can). She knew everyone…the Chef at our reception (The Plantation House Restaurant) is her neighbor! Without a doubt, I placed a lot of faith in her talent and skills. The day we finally met was trial day at her studio. One of my bridesmaids (Dawn) came with me, since she was also getting made up by Karine on the wedding day. We all immediately hit it off. I was SO thankful and relieved that Karine was super talented. Dawn and I felt like we knew her all along. And let me point out what’s different and unique about Karine…I’m sure most of you ladies have done trials elsewhere and typically are aware in that trial is just that, a trial! So it won’t look exactly what it’s supposed to on the day of, but close enough. Well this is not the case with Karine. She was very detail oriented and she made sure what I wanted both for hair and makeup were exactly what I envisioned. She was precise to the very littlest loops pinned in my hair, the shades of shadows used on my eye lids, to the fresh gardenia from her own garden used as an accessory on my hair. We were wowed by her meticulousness…even more so, by how much she made us feel at home!On the wedding day, Karine and Cherie (one of her talented artists) came to my hotel room, ready to prim myself, both moms of the bride and groom, and three bridesmaids. They made the process seamless and effortless, and most importantly, kept everyone calm and on time.Karine was one of the most caring vendors I’ve ever worked with, hands down! Even after styling everyone, she was taking pictures and was so proud of me, like a sister would be. Karine’s truly a genuine person.
