Very nice and intimate place to dine with a small wedding party. Has that old Hawaiian feel (old plantation) surrounded by ponds, exotic flowers and well kept gardens. They have a minimum of $2000 so make sure that you have enough people to meet the 2K minimum. Wish there was some flexibility on the cost, if you have a smaller party. Food is phenomenal and the Special Events Coordinator Mona Gonzulado is very attentive to your needs. Great set up even if you have a special request with wedding decor and favors

Please don't get me wrong, I enjoyed having my wedding at Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar. For our wedding we bought out the entire property for the day, had our ceremony in their Moir Gardens, Cocktail Hour on their lanai closest to the bar area, and had our reception dinner in the main part of the restaurant. Working with the restaurant and Mona, the special events coordinator, was great. She was very friendly and answered my constant flow of questions through the months of planning. The ceremony portion of our wedding went beautifully. All of our vendors pulled through and it was amazing. I'm unsure how the cocktail hour was because we were taking our photos throughout that hour, but I'm told it went off just great. We did have some issues during our reception dinner though that didn't please us at all considering we spent so much money on booking the entire property and having dinner as a 3-course plated meal. Our soup course was disappointing because the chef decided, without asking our permission, to serve our soup in oriental takeout boxes. The chef rationalized it as being more "artistic" but it looked cheap and tacky, was not at all a decision passed by us first, and according to my husband who is also a chef they put them in boxes to make the soup before hand which is why some of our guests were served luke-warm soup. The service was extremely slow. Our guests were complaining that some people had food while the majority didn't. Our vendors were complaining about how long they've been waiting for their meals as well. The food came out so slow that my photographer had to leave before we even had time to start our program because dinner had run over an hour longer than planned!!! Because my family and I were so flustered that our food was not coming out in a timely fashion my sister and my husband's best man did not have time to give their speeches, as they too were focused on helping resolve the food issue. To top it all off because of the extremely slow service we were moving extremely quickly through our program, and had run out of time for a dancing/celebrating portion of the night. >:(Loved the ceremony, the food itself was great, and the planning and working with Mona was great. However the slow service at our reception, having our guests and vendors complaining, the ruined soup course (chinese freakin' take out boxes?!?!), and running out of time to have our vendors with us throughout the program and having no time for some dancing and celebrating because of the slow service, made spending so much money on this venue a disappointment.

We had our ceremony on the grounds of the restaurant which is actually a part of the Kiahuna Plantation Resort. We loved every aspect of our wedding from the ceremony to the reception. The service was amazing. All of our guests were raving about the Plantation Gardens food, service, and staff. If you are getting married on Kauai, you should definitely check it out!
