I was really disappointed in the service I received from Elly's as they came highly recommened. First off I took my dress (from davids bridal) there to be altered. It was very expensive and they did a horrible job. They took in my dress 2inches to much and then told me that "I must have gained weight" in 1 week from my first fitting. (mind you that I am a tiny girl my dress was a size 0 and I have been this size for almost all my life) They also did a horrible job on the hem which was crooked and cut wrong. When I went back the third time. The dress fit but was very very snug. They said that was the best they could do!. We also rented all the tuxedos from them. They charged us $120 for vest that we never even got, 2 of the groomsmen pants didn't fit, and the ring bearer shoes were also to small and we had to buy new shoes the day of the wedding. They absolutely would not refund nor make any adjustments to the payments I already made. The sad thing is Elly and her daughter are really nice people. Im not sure who the other lady is that works there but she needs to go! I would not recommend them to anyone! sorry!

I found my dress after only trying 3 on! Everyone at Elly's was very friendly and I absolutely loved my dress! I would definitely recommend going here!!

My fiancé ended up buying his suit, but we rented suits for our groomsmen from Elly's formalwear for our destination wedding. I have mixed reviews about our experience. Overall, everything worked out fine for our groomsmen and no major problems resulted. We submitted their measurements on-line months in advance and confirmed our appointment beforehand. We initially sent multiple e-mail requests by mistake and received different price quotes, which was odd. However, the owner was very accommodating. We booked a package deal (including suit, tie, shoes, etc.) and the price was reasonable. Replies were not always prompt - I inquired about dress pressing and never received a response.The alterations were 'iffy'. All of the suit trousers were consistently 2 inches shorter than they should've been. We had to leave them with Elly's for adjustment (despite the initial promise that we could have alterations done and pick-up the same day). The process took longer than we expected, but wasn't a big deal.The store was busy and some aspects were unorganized (i.e. kept asking us what we were there for, couldn't get names and suit packages matched up at first). The appointment took longer than we would've liked and we weren’t attended to quickly. However, the final alterations looked fine and the guys had no complaints.During the initial appointment, we witnessed a bride and groom having a major argument with the manager. I did not know the details, but it looked like the manager didn't make much effort to appease the situation. The bride/groom even threatened a law suit (citing contract, etc.). I felt bad for the couple and what we witnessed did reflect poorly on their customer service - I felt the owners could have done more to help the situation.The quality of the suits were fine. For rentals in general, the product you receive and what you expect from pictures can often differ in reality. We were relieved that my fiancé bought his own suit, as that was the only way to achieve the exact fit, style, color, etc. that we wanted. We also bought our groomsmen ties to help achieve the look that we were going for. Overall, we would probably use Elly's again for the convenience and location.

Beautiful dress. Horrible service in the end--but maybe we made things too complicated? They lost my veil, ruined DH's vest and were always forgetting to record my appointment times/information.My dress was stunning, and I got lots of compliments. If you're just buying the dress, then fine. Keep things simple, and you should be happy. They were never rude or purposefully unhelpful. The team was very good and fitting dresses and smiling while you try on the same dress four times. It seems a lack of organization, however, caused us undue stress.Over three months before the wedding, I changed my veil request to a Swarovski crystal one (in person, I saw her write it down and charge me that day for the extra $$). At my first fitting (month of wedding), they had the wrong veil out. I corrected them, and they said they would have it the next week. The next week (final fitting) they said when they checked the veil it had a hole in it, so they ordered a new one and it would be there in time for us to pick it up the Friday before the wedding. Saturday arrived, and no veil. Supposedly it was in the mail, but just wouldn’t make it in time—mailed regular post with only 4 days to get from mainland to HI?! In my opinion, they should have paid for express mail to ensure that their mistake was remedied. In the end, I was disappointed to have to wear the non-Swarovski version for my wedding day. Also, miscommunications between the owner and seamstress nearly resulted in DH’s vest being ruined by alterations. It took three additional visits for them to try and salvage it, and even then, DH wasn’t 100% happy. Also, they tried to charge us for each additional “fix” that was required by their first screw up (they cut/shortened lines that weren’t supposed to even be touched!). My dress alterations were wonderful, however. Maybe just stick to wedding dresses?More than once we were told to come in to make some change, correction, etc. And each time we had to wait 15 min+ for the manager to even arrive on premise--because no one else knew how to help us. Once again, a simple miscommunication or lack or organization.

Elly and her team are fabulous! We had everything scheduled before we arrived in Maui and Elly's accommodated all of our requests. They did the cleaning and pressing of my bridal gown and my four bridesmaid dresses. They were very reasonable and they the dresses were ready early. My wedding gown was very wrinkled and had some dirty smudges on it from the place I bought my dress and they made it look so beautiful including all the complicated beading on it. I wish I had bought my dress from them. I highly recommend them!

The quality of service at Elly's was superb. We needed to alter our fitting and pickup time and they were very accomodating. They were very friendly and helpful to all 5 of our boys during the fitting. The Calvin Klein Tuxedos looked amazing.

I purchased my wedding gown from another shop on Maui and when I got it altered from them, they butchered it! I was mortified and demanded my money back for what I paid for the alterations, and they refused! I found Elly's in Kihei and brought my gown to them, and found out that my gown was impossible to fix what the other shop had done. I was so worried that I wasn't going to have a gown for my wedding! I cried for days and went back to Elly's. They found the perfect dress for me right off the rack. I was really impressed with their selection and how beautiful their gowns were. Elly was very professional and accommodating. They finished the alterations in time for my wedding. We ended up ordering my fiance's tux there, too, great selection of styles and brands. I would recommend Elly's and no where else! Trust me on this one!
